About Us
With more than a century of collective experience, Gorman Strategy Group has developed sophisticated techniques to uncover and then leverage opportunities . Through our work on campaigns, on Wall Street, inside government, non-profits, at the UN, in law firms, and more, we have the experience and knowledge, along with deep and broad relationships, to obtain and provide the best, actionable intelligence available — setting our clients apart from the crowd in their efforts to win business and generate new revenue. Our discreet business to government channels enable our clients to get in front of the right personnel at the right agency or office. One of the most important things we do is cut to the chase. There’s no time to waste, so we don’t. We make precise strategic decisions that move our clients’ issues forward.
OUR TEAM:
Matthew A. Gorman — Partner
Focused on business development and government affairs, Matt has deep experience and excellent relationships throughout the political, governmental, corporate, non-profit and international arenas. As President Clinton’s U.S. Treasury Director of the Office of Business Liaison, he worked closely with Treasury Secretaries Lloyd Bentsen and Robert Rubin, advancing important American homeland security goals, assisting businesses with IP protection, visa issues, cyber security, tax policy, and maneuvering the three branches of government.
Matt then moved on to the financial services industry on Wall Street, helping Blaylock & Partners become the first minority-owned investment banking firm to be a full co-manager of a bond offering of a billion dollars or more: AT&T’s historic $8 billion bond deal. Back in Washington, Matt was named Vice President, Office of the Chairman at MicroStrategy Inc. (MSTR).
Entrenched in Democratic Party politics for decades, Matt worked on the Finance Staffs of the Democratic Governors Association, U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt and the Clinton-Gore presidential campaign. He has subsequently raised millions of dollars serving on the Finance Committees of Democratic candidates for almost every state and federal office and continues to do so during the current election cycle.
